Mercury Photo Studio — Brochure Design

Overview

Created a stylish promotional brochure for Mercury Photo Studio, a modern photography space located in the heart of Chicago.

Challenge

Design a visually striking yet minimalistic brochure that reflects the studio's creative spirit and helps attract both photographers and clients for rental sessions.

Solution

Developed a clean and bold tri-fold brochure featuring custom typography, a modern color palette, and a balanced layout between imagery and text. The design showcases studio information, pricing details, and a clear call-to-action for easy booking.

My Role

Graphic Designer — brochure concept, layout design, typography selection, image curation, final production.

Tools Used

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Photoshop

Key Elements

  • Elegant and contemporary tri-fold layout
  • Custom typography pairing to reflect brand character
  • Strategic balance between visuals and information
  • Integrated QR code for seamless online booking

Design Process

The design process began with understanding the studio's unique positioning and target audience. I wanted to create a brochure that would not only provide essential information but also serve as a tangible representation of the studio's aesthetic and quality.

The color palette was carefully selected to create visual impact while maintaining sophistication. The deep burgundy red creates a bold statement on the cover, while the light gray provides a neutral backdrop for information sections. Black and white photography was used throughout to showcase the studio's style and versatility.

Typography plays a crucial role in this design, with a distinctive serif font for headlines that adds a touch of elegance and editorial flair, paired with a clean sans-serif for body text to ensure readability. The layout was structured to guide the reader through a logical flow of information, from introduction to services to booking details.

Outcome

The brochure has been an effective marketing tool for Mercury Photo Studio, helping them attract new clients and communicate their services clearly. The QR code integration has successfully bridged the gap between print and digital, making it easy for potential clients to book sessions immediately after reviewing the brochure.

The client reported a 30% increase in studio bookings within the first month of distributing the brochure at local businesses and events. The design has also helped establish a consistent visual identity that has been extended to other marketing materials.
